Brake Pads Stopping power is always the most important aspect of any brake disc system. To assure optimal performance, all Girling pads are scorched to reduce the time it takes for the pad and disc to adapt to each other (bedding-in time). The high pressure scorching process heats the friction material to 600° – 700° C; scorching the surface ensures high performance far earlier than non scorched pads.
